H.A. Sun should be your Valentine this year! You need HVAC maintenance, and we are the best match for you.
Why do you need regular HVAC maintenance?
This is a question we get sometimes: is HVAC maintenance twice a year actually necessary, or is it a “scam” of some sort?
In order to answer that question, we defer to the experts even above our own experts: the Environmental Protection Agency, and ENERGY STAR! They say it’s important to maintain and tune up your HVAC system because “dirt and neglect” can either make your system inefficient, or cause it to fail altogether. On the other hand, ensuring that your HVAC equipment is properly sized, installed well, and maintained well, you can “save as much as 20% annually on your total energy costs.”[1]
One thing you can do on your own is change your air filter every couple of months, but that doesn’t eliminate the need to get a tune-up twice a year!
What do you get with HVAC maintenance?
Regardless of whether we’re talking about a heating or cooling tune-up, a technician will tighten electrical connections and measure amperage and voltage on all motors. This ensures your system will last as long as possible, but also makes sure it is safe and that no electrical fires can happen. Another important aspect of an HVAC tune-up is to lubricate parts of motors that tend to get stuck, making your system work harder.
Last but not least, since it’s winter here, your technician will be very careful to check the gas pressure on your furnace, as well as cleaning the burner if it’s dirty, and figuring out whether the heat exchanger is cracked. Not only are these problems inefficient, but they can be unsafe as well!
